Please see and share the video titled “How to Make a Mask,” found online here, on making a cloth, non-medical face covering.

The best way to avoid getting or spreading the new coronavirus continues to be staying home. However, the Centers for Disease Control issued new guidelines recommending that people wear cloth face coverings in public settings like grocery stores and pharmacies where it could be difficult to maintain social distancing.

Wearing a non-medical mask is an additional and voluntary public health measure that could keep people who have the virus and do not know it from transmitting it to others, according to the CDC. It is not a replacement for other important steps to prevent the spread of COVID-19 like staying home, physical distancing and hand-washing.

The cloth face coverings recommended are not surgical masks or N-95 respirators. Those are critical supplies that must continue to be reserved for healthcare workers and other medical first responders.

The best prevention: Stay home and wash your hands with soap and water frequently.
