SANTA FE – The New Mexico Department of Health reports the exposure of COVID-19 to parishioners of the Calvary Chapel New Harvest Church in Los Lunas. Parishioners of the church are asked to contact any location in their area that offers COVID-19 testing to assure they do not have COVID-19, particularly if they are experiencing symptoms such as fever or chills, cough, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, muscle or body aches, or loss of taste or smell.

The highly contagious virus may produce a range of health outcomes, with most people experiencing mild symptoms, but some experiencing severe symptoms. Those most vulnerable to the virus are older adults and people who have underlying medical conditions like heart or lung disease or diabetes.

“Job one of the Department of Health is to protect the health of the citizens of New Mexico,” said Cabinet Secretary Kathy Kunkel. “Anyone can unknowingly have COVID-19 and spread it to someone at higher risk of complications without realizing how dangerous it can be to that person, whether it’s a total stranger or close family member.”
Testing sites for anyone in New Mexico can be found on the Department of Health website at https://cvprovider.nmhealth.org/directory.html. For a full list of symptoms visit https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/symptoms-testing/symptoms.html.
